On their arrival they gathered the church together and reported how God had been with them, what he had done, and how he had opened a door into faith for the Gentiles.

On hearing this they desisted and glorified God, saying, "So God has actually allowed the Gentiles to repent and live!"

The people stood and looked on, and even the rulers sneered at him, saying, "He saved others, let him save himself, if he is the Christ of God, the Chosen One!"

but a voice came from the cloud, "This is my Son, my Chosen one; listen to him."

and the holy Spirit descended in bodily form like a dove upon him; and a voice came from heaven, "Thou art my son, the Beloved, to-day have I become thy father."

Then a cloud came overshadowing them, and from the cloud a voice said, "This is my Son, the Beloved, listen to him."

then said a voice from heaven, 'Thou art my Son, the Beloved, in thee is my delight.'

He was still speaking when a bright cloud overshadowed them, and from the cloud a voice said, "This is my Son, the Beloved, in him is my delight: listen to him."

it was for the fulfilment of what had been said by the prophet Isaiah,
