Then after speaking to them the Lord Jesus was taken up to heaven and sat down at the right hand of God,

And as he blessed them he parted from them [and was carried up to heaven].

With these words he went forward on his way up to Jerusalem.

He went on to tell a parable in their hearing, as he was approaching Jerusalem and as they imagined God's Reign would instantly come into view.

I have a baptism to undergo. How I am distressed till it is all over!

And as they journeyed along the road a man said to him, "I will follow you anywhere."
