The Son of man, he said, has to endure great suffering, to be rejected by the elders and high priests and scribes, to be killed, and on the third day to be raised.

We must therefore pay closer attention to what we have heard, in case we drift away.

and as for Mary, she treasured it all up and mused upon it.

Jesus answered, "You would have no power over me, unless it had been granted you from above. So you are less guilty than he who betrayed me to you."

for he was teaching his disciples, telling them that the Son of man would be betrayed into the hands of men, that they would kill him, and that when he was killed he would rise again after three days.

And he proceeded to teach them that the Son of man had to endure great suffering, to be rejected by the elders and the high priests and the scribes, to be killed and after three days to rise again;

"You know the passover is to be held two days after this; and the Son of man will be delivered up to be crucified."

From that time Jesus began to show his disciples that he had to leave for Jerusalem and endure great suffering at the hands of the elders and high priests and scribes, and be killed and raised on the third day.

Jesus replied, "You believe it, at last?
