Why do you note the splinter in your brother's eye and fail to see the plank in your own eye?

but as they persisted with their question, he raised himself and said to them, "Let the innocent among you throw the first stone at her";

he glances at himself, goes off, and at once forgets what he was like.

Therefore you are inexcusable, whoever you are, if you pose as a judge, for in judging another you condemn yourself; you, the judge, do the very same things yourself.

Judge not, that you may not be judged yourselves;

A scholar is not above his teacher: but if he is perfectly trained he will be like his teacher.

How dare you say to your brother, 'Brother, let me take out the splinter that is in your eye,' and you never notice the plank in your own eye? You hypocrite! take the plank out of your own eye first, and then you will see properly to take out the splinter in your brother's eye.

and as they also had a few small fish, he blessed them too and told the disciples to serve them out as well.
