how God consecrated Jesus of Nazaret with the holy Spirit and power, and how he went about doing good and curing all who were harassed by the devil; for God was with him.

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me: for he has consecrated me to preach the gospel to the poor, he has sent me to proclaim release for captives and recovery of sight for the blind, to set free the oppressed,

For he whom God has sent utters the words of God — God gives him the Spirit in no sparing measure;

And John bore this testimony also: "I saw the Spirit descend like a dove from heaven and rest on him.

Now when Jesus had been baptized, the moment he rose out of the water, the heavens opened and he saw the Spirit of God coming down like a dove upon him.

Then Jesus came back in the power of the Spirit to Galilee, and the news of him spread over all the surrounding country.

When they came up from the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught Philip away, and the eunuch lost sight of him. He went on his way rejoicing,

down to the day when, after issuing his orders by the holy Spirit to the disciples whom he had chosen, he was taken up to heaven.

By an inspiration of the Spirit he came to the temple, and when the parents of the child Jesus carried him in to perform the customary regulations of the law for him,

and he went into all the Jordan-district preaching a baptism of repentance for the remission of sins —

the son of Enos, the son of Seth, the son of Adam, the son of God.
