Then came the day of unleavened bread when the paschal lamb had to be sacrificed.

Clean out the old dough that you may be a fresh lump. For you are free from the old leaven; Christ our paschal lamb has been sacrificed.

Now the feast of unleavened bread which is called the passover was near.

He assented to this and sought a good opportunity for betraying him to them in the absence of the crowd.
