A man said to him, "Is it only a few, sir, who are saved?" So he said to them,

But the road that leads to life is both narrow and close, and there are few who find it.

For many are invited but few are chosen.'"

So shall the last be first and the first last."

When the disciples heard this they were utterly astounded; they said, "Who then can possibly be saved?"
