If you bear the name of 'Jew,' relying on the Law, priding yourself on God,

he was reviled and made no retort, he suffered and never threatened, but left everything to Him who judges justly;

nor thieves nor the lustful nor the drunken nor the abusive nor robbers will inherit the Realm of God.

we work hard for our living; when reviled, we bless; when persecuted, we put up with it;

They retorted, "And so you would teach us — you, born in utter depravity!" Then they expelled him.

Did not Moses give you the Law? — and yet none of you honestly obeys the Law. Else, why do you want to kill me?"

Those who passed by scoffed at him, nodding at him in derision

Blessed are you when men denounce you and persecute you and utter all manner of evil against you for my sake;
