and his disciples asked him, "Rabbi, for whose sin — for his own or for his parents' — was he born blind?"
But he replied to them, "Do you think, because they suffered this, that these Galileans were worse sinners than the rest of the Galileans?
They retorted, "And so you would teach us — you, born in utter depravity!" Then they expelled him.
When the natives saw the creature hanging from his hand, they said to each other, "This man must be a murderer! He has escaped the sea, but Justice will not let him live."
They told him, "Some say John the Baptist, others Elijah, others Jeremiah or one of the prophets."
