All spoke well of him and marvelled at the gracious words that came from his lips; they said, "Is this not Joseph's son?"

Yet here he is, opening his lips in public, and they say nothing to him! Can the authorities have really discovered that he is the Christ?

they were astounded at his teaching, for his word came with authority.

The Pharisees heard the people discussing Jesus in this way, so the high priests and the Pharisees despatched attendants to arrest him.
