I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, Christ lives in me; the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave himself up for me.

for as the Father has life in himself, so too he has granted the Son to have life in himself,

This is how the love of God has appeared for us, by God sending his only Son into the world, so that by him we might live.
