Truly, truly I tell you, the time is coming, it has come already, when the dead will listen to the voice of the Son of God, and those who listen will live;

Do not wonder at this; for there is a time coming when all who are in the tombs will listen to his voice

Thus it is said, 'Wake up, O sleeper, and rise from the dead; so Christ will shine upon you.'

Our baptism in his death made us share his burial, so that, as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might live and move in the new sphere of Life.

Why do you not understand my speech? Because you are unable to listen to what I am saying.

for as the Father raises the dead and makes them live, so the Son makes anyone live whom he chooses.

for my son here was dead and he has come to life, he was lost and he is found.' So they began to make merry.

Jesus said to him, "Leave the dead to bury their own dead; you go and spread the news of the Reign of God."

"Woman," said Jesus, "believe me, the time is coming when you will be worshipping the Father neither on this mountain nor at Jerusalem.

So Jesus spoke; then, lifting his eyes to heaven, he said: "Father, the time has now come; glorify thy Son that thy Son may glorify thee,

Now before the passover festival Jesus knew the time had come for him to pass from this world to the Father. He had loved his own in this world and he loved them to the end;

Now many of his disciples, on hearing it, said, "This is hard to take in! Who can listen to talk like this?"

He retorted, "I have told you that already, and you would not listen to me. Why do you want to hear it over again? Do you want to be disciples of his?"
