Nicodemus answered, "How can that be?"
Now many of his disciples, on hearing it, said, "This is hard to take in! Who can listen to talk like this?"
The Jews then wrangled with one another, saying, "How can he give us his flesh to eat?"
"How can this be?" said Mary to the angel, "I have no husband."
Nicodemus said to him, "How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter his mother's womb over again and be born?"
The wind blows where it wills; you can hear its sound, but you never know where it has come from or where it goes: it is the same with everyone who is born of the Spirit."
Jesus replied, "You do not understand this? — you, a teacher in Israel!
