Now Thomas, one of the twelve, who was called 'the Twin,' was not with them when Jesus came;
Whereupon Thomas (called 'the Twin') said to his fellow-disciples, "Let us go too, let us die along with him!"
not ceasing to meet together, as is the habit of some, but admonishing one another, all the more so, as you see the Day coming near.
Simon Peter, Thomas (who was called 'the Twin'), Nathanael from Cana in Galilee, the two sons of Zebedaeus, and two other disciples of his, were all together.
"Lord," said Thomas, "we do not know where you are going, and how are we to know the way?"

(He meant Judas the son of Simon Iscariot; for Judas was to betray him — and he was one of the twelve.)
