Jesus replied, "Are you saying this of your own accord, or did other people tell you about me?"

So Pilate went back inside the praetorium and called Jesus, saying, "Then you are king of the Jews?"

"Am I a Jew?" said Pilate. "Your own nation and the high priests have handed you over to me. What have you done?"

he went inside the praetorium again and asked Jesus, "Where do you come from?" Jesus made no reply.
