Then Mary, taking a pound of expensive perfume, real nard, anointed the feet of Jesus and wiped his feet with her hair, till the house was filled with the scent of the perfume.

Now when he was at Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, lying at table, a woman came up with an alabaster flask of pure nard perfume, which had cost a great sum; the flask she broke and poured the perfume over his head.

And when the Lord saw her, he felt pity for her and said to her, "Do not weep."

So John summoned two of his disciples and sent them to ask the Lord, "Are you the Coming One? Or are we to look out for someone else?"

so the sisters sent to him, saying, "Lord, he whom you love is ill."

Said Martha to Jesus, "Had you been here, Lord, my brother would not have died.

But when Mary came to where Jesus was and saw him, she dropped at his feet, crying, "Had you been here, Lord, my brother would not have died."

You call me Teacher and Lord, and you are right: that is what I am.

Well, if I have washed your feet, I who am your Lord and Teacher, you are bound to wash one another's feet;
