(Not that he cared for the poor; he said this because he was a thief, and because he carried the money-box and pilfered what was put in.)

and told them, "It is written, My house shall be called a house of prayer, but you make it a den of robbers."

but you refuse to come to me for life.

I am the good shepherd; a good shepherd lays down his own life for the sheep.
