Why, we had fathers of our flesh to discipline us, and we yielded to them! Shall we not far more submit to the Father of our spirits, and so live?
What is born of the flesh is flesh: what is born of the Spirit is Spirit.
Humble yourselves under the strong hand of God, then, so that when it is time, he may raise you;
Well then, submit yourselves to God; resist the devil, and he will fly from you:
the patriarchs are theirs, and theirs too (so far as natural descent goes) is the Christ. (Blessed for evermore be the God who is over all! Amen.)
