In the same way you husbands must be considerate in living with your wives, since they are the weaker sex; you must honour them as heirs equally with yourselves of the grace of Life, so that your prayers may not be hindered.

Husbands, love your wives, do not be harsh to them.

So ought husbands to love their wives — to love them as their own bodies (he who loves his wife loves himself).

However, let every man of you love his wife as himself, and let the wife reverence her husband.

and lead lives of love, just as Christ loved you and gave himself up for you to be a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
