For if we have grown into him by a death like his, we shall grow into him by a resurrection like his,

It is a sure word, that "If we have died with him, we shall live with him,

You are sharing what Christ suffered; so rejoice in it, that you may also rejoice and exult when his glory is revealed.

We believe that as we have died with Christ we shall also live with him;

For though he was crucified in his weakness, he lives by the power of God; and though I am weak as he was weak, you will find I am alive as he is alive by the power of God.

For as the sufferings of Christ are abundant in my case, so my comfort is also abundant through Christ.

(Because, as it is written, For thy sake we are being killed all the day long, we are counted as sheep to be slaughtered.)

I am suffering now on your behalf, but I rejoice in that; I would make up the full sum of all that Christ has to suffer in my person on behalf of the church, his Body;

in fact I told myself it was the sentence of death. But that was to make me rely not on myself but on the God who raises the dead;

Let no one interfere with me after this, for I bear branded on my body the owner's stamp of Jesus.

A little while longer and the world will see me no more; but you will see me, because I am living and you will be living too.

When I saw him, I fell at his feet like a dead man; but he laid his hand on me, saying, "Do not be afraid; I am the First and Last,

every day of my life I am being given over to death for Jesus' sake, so that the life of Jesus may come out within my mortal flesh.

If you are denounced for the sake of Christ, you are blessed; for then the Spirit of glory and power, the Spirit of God himself, is resting on you.
