Nehemiah 8:2

And Ezra the kohen brought the Torah before the congregation both of men and women, and all that could hear with understanding, upon the first day of the seventh month.

Speak unto the children of Yisrael, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a Sabbath, a memorial of blowing of shofars, an holy convocation.

For the kohen's lips should keep knowledge, and they should seek the Torah at his mouth: for he is the messenger of YY -TZvaot.

And in the seventh month, on the first day of the month, ye shall have an holy convocation; ye shall do no servile work: it is a day of blowing the shofars unto you.

For Moshe of old time hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the Synagogues every Sabbath Day.

Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.

And it shall be, when he sitteth upon the Throne of his kingdom, that he shall write him a copy of this Torah in a book out of that which is before the kohanim the Lvim:

And Nechemyah, which is the Tirshatha, and Ezra the kohen the scribe, and the Lvim that taught the people, said unto all the people, This day is holy unto YY your Elohim; mourn not, nor weep. For all the people wept, when they heard the words of the Torah.

Now in the twenty and fourth day of this month the children of Yisrael were assembled with fasting, and with sackclothes, and earth upon them.

There was not a word of all that Moshe Commanded, which Y'howshu`a read not before all the congregation of Yisrael, with the women, and the little ones, and the strangers that were conversant among them.

Also day by day, from the first day unto the last day, he read in the book of the Torah of Elohim. And they kept the feast seven days; and on the eighth day was a solemn assembly, according unto the manner.

They clave to their brethren, their nobles, and entered into a curse, and into an oath, to walk in Elohim's Torah, which was given by Moshe the servant of Elohim, and to observe and do all The Commandments of YY our YY , and his judgments and his statutes;

On that day they read in the book of Moshe in the audience of the people; and therein was found written, that the Ammonite and the Moabite should not come into the congregation of Elohim for ever;
