And when the chief kohanim and scribes saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children crying in the Temple, and saying, "Deliverance from the Son of David"; they were sore displeased,

And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, "Deliverance" to the Son of David: :Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Deliverance from the highest! 1)

The Prushim therefore said among themselves, Perceive ye how ye prevail nothing? behold, the world is gone after him.

Now both the chief kohanim and the Prushim had given a commandment, that, if any man knew where he were, he should shew it, that they might take him.

Hath not the Scripture said, That Moshiach cometh of the seed of David, and out of the town of Beit-Lechem, where David was?

When therefore the Lord knew how the Prushim had heard that Y'shuw`a made and immersed more talmidim than Yochanan,

And as soon as it was day, the elders of the people and the chief kohanim and the scribes came together, and led him into their council, saying,

And the chief kohanim and scribes sought how they might kill him; for they feared the people.

And it came to pass, that on one of those days, as he taught the people in the Temple, and preached the good news, the chief kohanim and the scribes came upon him with the elders,

And the scribes and chief kohanim heard it, and sought how they might destroy him: for they feared him, because all the people was astonished at his teaching.

But the chief kohanim and elders persuaded the multitude that they should ask Bar-Abba, and destroy Y'shuw`a.

When the morning was come, all the chief kohanim and elders of the people took counsel against Y'shuw`a to put him to death:

Now the chief kohanim, and elders, and all the council, sought false witness against Y'shuw`a, to put him to death;

Then assembled together the chief kohanim, and the scribes, and the elders of the people, unto the palace of kohen hagadol, who was called Kayafa,

Saying, What think ye of Moshiach? whose son is he? They say unto him, The Son of David.

And when he was come into the Temple, the chief kohanim and the elders of the people came unto him as he was teaching, and said, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority?

And when Y'shuw`a departed thence, two blind men followed him, crying, and saying, Thou Son of David, have mercy on us.

YY , when thy hand is lifted up, they will not see: but they shall see, and be ashamed for their envy at the people; yea, the fire of thine enemies shall devour them.

And when the ten heard it, they were moved with indignation against the two brethren.
