And when he had gathered all the chief kohanim and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Moshiach should be born.

And there arose a great cry: and the scribes that were of the Prushim part arose, and strove, saying, We find no evil in this man: but if a spirit or an angel hath spoken to him, let us not fight against Elohim.

And they stirred up the people, and the elders, and the scribes, and came upon him, and caught him, and brought him to the council,

And when he was come into the Temple, the chief kohanim and the elders of the people came unto him as he was teaching, and said, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority?

For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.

Y'shuw`a answered and said unto him, Art thou a rabbi of Yisrael, and knowest not these things?

And the chief kohanim and scribes stood and vehemently accused him.

And the chief kohanim and the scribes the same hour sought to lay hands on him; and they feared the people: for they perceived that he had spoken this parable against them.

How do ye say, We are wise, and the Torah of YY is with us? Lo, certainly in vain made he it; the pen of the scribes is in vain.

And he began to teach them, that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders, and of the chief kohanim, and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.

When the morning was come, all the chief kohanim and elders of the people took counsel against Y'shuw`a to put him to death:

And while he yet spake, lo, Yhudah, one of the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief kohanim and elders of the people.

Then assembled together the chief kohanim, and the scribes, and the elders of the people, unto the palace of kohen hagadol, who was called Kayafa,

And when the chief kohanim and scribes saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children crying in the Temple, and saying, "Deliverance from the Son of David"; they were sore displeased,

Then said he unto them, Therefore every scribe which is instructed unto the Kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which bringeth forth out of his treasure things new and old.

For the kohen's lips should keep knowledge, and they should seek the Torah at his mouth: for he is the messenger of YY -TZvaot.

The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against YY , and against his anointed, saying,

Sallu, Amok, Hilkiah, Jedaiah. These were the chief of the kohanim and of their brethren in the days of Yeshua.

Then arose Ezra, and made the chief kohanim, the Lvim, and all Yisrael, to swear that they should do according to this word. And they sware.

This Ezra went up from Bavel; and he was a ready scribe in the Torah of Moshe, which YY Elohim of Yisrael had given: and the king granted him all his request, according to the hand of YY his Elohim upon him.

Moreover all the chief of the kohanim, and the people, transgressed very much after all the abominations of the heathen; and polluted the house of YY which he had hallowed in Yerushalayim.

And Hilkiah answered and said to Shaphan the scribe, I have found the book of the Torah in the house of YY . And Hilkiah delivered the book to Shaphan.

Also they were over the bearers of burdens, and were overseers of all that wrought the work in any manner of service: and of the Lvim there were scribes, and officers, and porters.

When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Yerushalayim with him.

And they said unto him, In Beit-Lechem of Yhudah: for thus it is written by the prophet,
