Her adversaries are the chief, her enemies prosper; for YY hath afflicted her for the multitude of her transgressions: her children are gone into captivity before the enemy.
Then said he unto me, The iniquity of the house of Yisrael and Yhudah is exceeding great, and the land is full of blood, and the city full of perverseness: for they say, YY hath forsaken the earth, and YY seeth not.
Then Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carried away captive into Bavel the remnant of the people that remained in the city, and those that fell away, that fell to him, with the rest of the people that remained.
YY hath done that which he had devised; he hath fulfilled his word that he had Commanded in the days of old: he hath thrown down, and hath not pitied: and he hath caused thine enemy to rejoice over thee, he hath set up the shofar of thine adversaries.
YY is righteous; for I have rebelled against His Commandment: hear, I pray you, all people, and behold my sorrow: my virgins and my young men are gone into captivity.
I have seen also in the prophets of Yerushalayim an horrible thing: they commit adultery, and walk in lies: they strengthen also the hands of evildoers, that none doth return from his wickedness; they are all of them unto me as Sodom, and the inhabitants thereof as Gomorrah.
For I know that after my death ye will utterly corrupt yourselves, and turn aside from the way which I have Commanded you; and evil will befall you in the latter days; because ye will do evil in the sight of YY , to provoke him to anger through the work of your hands.
For it is a day of trouble, and of treading down, and of perplexity by YY Elohim of hosts in the valley of vision, breaking down the walls, and of crying to the mountains.
My tabernacle is spoiled, and all my cords are broken: my children are gone forth of me, and they are not: there is none to stretch forth my tent any more, and to set up my curtains.
Yerushalayim hath grievously sinned; therefore she is removed: all that honoured her despise her, because they have seen her nakedness: yea, she sigheth, and turneth backward.
Because they have done that which was evil in my sight, and have provoked me to anger, since the day their fathers came forth out of Egypt, even unto this day.
For these things I weep; mine eye, mine eye runneth down with water, because the comforter that should relieve my soul is far from me: my children are desolate, because the enemy prevailed.
