Joshua 5:6

For the children of Yisrael walked forty years in the wilderness, till all the people that were men of war, which came out of Egypt, were consumed, because they obeyed not the voice of YY : unto whom YY sware that he would not shew them the land, which YY sware unto their fathers that he would give us, a land that floweth with milk and honey.

Yet also I lifted up my hand unto them in the wilderness, that I would not bring them into the land which I had given them, flowing with milk and honey, which is the glory of all lands;

Go and cry in the ears of Yerushalayim, saying, Thus saith YY ; I remember thee, the kindness of thy youth, the love of thine espousals, when thou wentest after me in the wilderness, in a land that was not sown.

Thy raiment waxed not old upon thee, neither did thy foot swell, these forty years.

In the day that I lifted up mine hand unto them, to bring them forth of the land of Egypt into a land that I had espied for them, flowing with milk and honey, which is the glory of all lands:

And I have said, I will bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt unto the land of the Kenaanim, and the Hittitim, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivi, and the Yvusis, unto a land flowing with milk and honey.

And it shall come to pass in that day, that the mountains shall drop down new wine, and the hills shall flow with milk, and all the rivers of Yhudah shall flow with waters, and a fountain shall come forth out of the house of YY , and shall water the valley of Shittim.

These are they that were numbered by Moshe and Eleazar the kohen, who numbered the children of Yisrael in the plains of Moab by Yarden near Yericho.

Now all the people that came out were circumcised: but all the people that were born in the wilderness by the way as they came forth out of Egypt, them they had not circumcised.

And their children, whom he raised up in their stead, them Y'howshu`a circumcised: for they were uncircumcised, because they had not circumcised them by the way.

They wandered in the wilderness in a solitary way; they found no city to dwell in.

Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them.

And when they cried unto YY , he put darkness between you and the Egyptians, and brought the sea upon them, and covered them; and your eyes have seen what I have done in Egypt: and ye dwelt in the wilderness a long season.
