Joshua 5:1

And it came to pass, when all the kings of the Amorites, which were on the side of Yarden westward, and all the kings of the Kenaanim, which were by the sea, heard that YY had dried up the waters of Yarden from before the children of Yisrael, until we were passed over, that their heart melted, neither was there spirit in them any more, because of the children of Yisrael.

And say, Thus saith YY Elohim unto Yerushalayim; Thy birth and thy nativity is of the land of Kenaan; thy father was an Amorite, and thy mother an Hittite.

Now when these things were done, the princes came to me, saying, The people of Yisrael, and the kohanim, and the Lvim, have not separated themselves from the people of the lands, doing according to their abominations, even of the Kenaanim, the Hittitim, the Perizzites, the Yvusis, the Ammonites, the Moabites, the Egyptians, and the Amorites.

And the king called the Givonites, and said unto them; (now the Givonites were not of the children of Yisrael, but of the remnant of the Amorites; and the children of Yisrael had sworn unto them: and Saul sought to slay them in his zeal to the children of Yisrael and Yhudah.)

So now YY Elohim of Yisrael hath dispossessed the Amorites from before his people Yisrael, and shouldest thou possess it?

And YY sold them into the hand of Jabin king of Kenaan, that reigned in Hazor; the captain of whose host was Sisra, which dwelt in Harosheth of the Gentiles.

Namely, five YY s of the Plishtim, and all the Kenaanim, and the TZidonians, and the Hivi that dwelt in mount Lvanon, from mount Baalhermon unto the entering in of Hamath.

Now after the death of Y'howshu`a it came to pass, that the children of Yisrael asked YY , saying, Who shall go up for us against the Kenaanim first, to fight against them?

And if it seem evil unto you to serve YY , choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the elohim which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the elohim of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve YY .

But the mountain shall be thine; for it is a wood, and thou shalt cut it down: and the outgoings of it shall be thine: for thou shalt drive out the Kenaanim, though they have iron chariots, and though they be strong.

Yet the children of Mnasheh could not drive out the inhabitants of those cities; but the Kenaanim would dwell in that land.

And I will send shofarets before thee, which shall drive out the Hivite, the Kenaanite, and the Hittite, from before thee.

Moreover I have given to thee one portion above thy brethren, which I took out of the hand of the Amorite with my sword and with my bow.

And Abram passed through the land unto the place of Sichem, unto the plain of Moreh. And the Kenaanite was then in the land.

The isles saw it, and feared; the ends of the earth were afraid, drew near, and came.

That the waters which came down from above stood and rose up upon an heap very far from the city Adam, that is beside Zaretan: and those that came down toward the sea of the plain, even the salt sea, failed, and were cut off: and the people passed over right against Yericho.

And the kohanim that bare the ark of the covenant of YY stood firm on dry ground in the midst of Yarden, and all the Yisraelites passed over on dry ground, until all the people were passed clean over Yarden.
