Sihon king of the Amorites, who dwelt in Heshbon, and ruled from Aroer, which is upon the bank of the river Arnon, and from the middle of the river, and from half Gilad, even unto the river Yabok, which is the border of the children of Ammon;
And Heshbon shall cry, and Elealeh: their voice shall be heard even unto YAHaz: therefore the armed soldiers of Moab shall cry out; his life shall be grievous unto him.
And this land, which we possessed at that time, from Aroer, which is by the river Arnon, and half mount Gilad, and the cities thereof, gave I unto the Reuvenites and to the Gadites.
So they hired thirty and two thousand chariots, and the king of Maachah and his people; who came and pitched before Medeba. And the children of Ammon gathered themselves together from their cities, and came to battle.
For Heshbon was the city of Sihon the king of the Amorites, who had fought against the former king of Moab, and taken all his land out of his hand, even unto Arnon.
But the Lvim have no part among you; for the kohenhood of YY is their inheritance: and Gad, and Reuven, and half the tribe of Mnasheh, have received their inheritance beyond Yarden on the east, which Moshe the servant of YY gave them.
While Yisrael dwelt in Heshbon and her towns, and in Aroer and her towns, and in all the cities that be along by the coasts of Arnon, three hundred years? why therefore did ye not recover them within that time?
