Therefore they sought again to take him: but he escaped out of their hand,

These words spake Y'shuw`a in the treasury, as he taught in the Temple: and no man laid hands on him; for his hour was not yet come.

Then Y'shuw`a said unto them, My time is not yet come: but your time is alway ready.

The Prushim heard that the people murmured such things concerning him; and the Prushim and the chief kohanim sent officers to take him.

Now both the chief kohanim and the Prushim had given a commandment, that, if any man knew where he were, he should shew it, that they might take him.

I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.

Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Y'shuw`a hid himself, and went out of the Temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.

I know that ye are Avraham's seed; but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in you.

Did not Moshe give you the Torah, and yet none of you keepeth the Torah? Why go ye about to kill me?

Go ye up unto this Feast: I go not up yet unto this Feast; for my time is not yet full come.

When I was daily with you in the Temple, ye stretched forth no hands against me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness.

And the chief kohanim and the scribes the same hour sought to lay hands on him; and they feared the people: for they perceived that he had spoken this parable against them.

And the scribes and chief kohanim heard it, and sought how they might destroy him: for they feared him, because all the people was astonished at his teaching.

But when they sought to lay hands on him, they feared the multitude, because they took him for a prophet.

Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:

Surely the wrath of man shall praise thee: the remainder of wrath shalt thou restrain.

Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.

Then the Prushim went out, and held a council against him, how they might destroy him.
