And they which were sent were of the Prushim.
And as he said these things unto them, the scribes and the Prushim began to urge him vehemently, and to provoke him to speak of many things:
And the Prushim also, who were covetous, heard all these things: and they derided him.
But the Prushim and lawyers rejected the counsel of Elohim against themselves, being not immersed of him.
Which knew me from the beginning, if they would testify, that after the most straitest sect of our religion I lived a Parush.
For the TZdukim say that there is no resurrection, neither angel, nor spirit: but the Prushim confess both.
Thou blind Parush, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.
He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Yeshayahu.
And they asked him, and said unto him, Why immerse thou then, if thou be not that Moshiach, nor Eliyahu, neither that prophet?
