And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto YY your Elohim: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil.

But thou, O YY , art an Elohim full of compassion, and gracious, long suffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth.

YY is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.

For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

Who is an Elohim like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy.

For thou, YY , art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee.

YY is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.

And he prayed unto YY , and said, I pray thee, O YY , was not this my saying, when I was yet in my country? Therefore I fled before unto Tarshish: for I knew that thou art a gracious Elohim, and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repentest thee of the evil.

For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith YY : but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.

Then David took hold on his clothes, and rent them; and likewise all the men that were with him:

Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of Elohim leadeth thee to repentance?

The sacrifices of Elohim are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O Elohim, thou wilt not despise.

Because thine heart was tender, and thou hast humbled thyself before YY , when thou heardest what I spake against this place, and against the inhabitants thereof, that they should become a desolation and a curse, and hast rent thy clothes, and wept before me; I also have heard thee, saith YY .

But Elohim, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,

And he remembered for them his covenant, and repented according to the multitude of his mercies.

Then Iyov arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped,

YY is longsuffering, and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression, and by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation.

And refused to obey, neither were mindful of thy wonders that thou didst among them; but hardened their necks, and in their rebellion appointed a captain to return to their bondage: but thou art an Elohim ready to pardon, gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and forsookest them not.

For bodily exercise profiteth little: but g-dliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.

YY is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: YY hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.

And YY said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Yerushalayim, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.

And it came to pass, when the king heard the words of the woman, that he rent his clothes; and he passed by upon the wall, and the people looked, and, behold, he had sackcloth within upon his flesh.

And it came to pass, when the king of Yisrael had read the letter, that he rent his clothes, and said, Am I Elohim, to kill and to make alive, that this man doth send unto me to recover a man of his leprosy? wherefore consider, I pray you, and see how he seeketh a quarrel against me.

And it came to pass, when Achav heard those words, that he rent his clothes, and put sackcloth upon his flesh, and fasted, and lay in sackcloth, and went softly.

And Yaakov rent his clothes, and put sackcloth upon his loins, and mourned for his son many days.

Is it such a fast that I have chosen? a day for a man to afflict his soul? is it to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? wilt thou call this a fast, and an acceptable day to YY ?

And it came to pass, when the king had heard the words of the book of the Torah, that he rent his clothes.

That there came certain from Shkhem, from Shiloh, and from Shomron, even fourscore men, having their beards shaven, and their clothes rent, and having cut themselves, with offerings and incense in their hand, to bring them to the house of YY .

If ye will still abide in this land, then will I build you, and not pull you down, and I will plant you, and not pluck you up: for I repent me of the evil that I have done unto you.

O Yisrael, return unto YY thy Elohim; for thou hast fallen by thine iniquity.

Then hear thou from heaven, and forgive the sin of thy servants, and of thy people Yisrael, when thou hast taught them the good way, wherein they should walk; and send rain upon thy land, which thou hast given unto thy people for an inheritance.

It may be they will present their supplication before YY , and will return every one from his evil way: for great is the anger and the fury that YY hath pronounced against this people.

Who can tell if Elohim will turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not?
