Then will I cause to cease from the cities of Yhudah, and from the streets of Yerushalayim, the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride: for the land shall be desolate.

And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.

I will also cause all her mirth to cease, her feast days, her new moons, and her Sabbaths, and all her solemn feasts.

And I will cause the noise of thy songs to cease; and the sound of thy harps shall be no more heard.

Moreover I will take from them the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones, and the light of the candle.

For thus saith YY -TZvaot, the Elohim of Yisrael; Behold, I will cause to cease out of this place in your eyes, and in your days, the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride.

Your country is desolate, your cities are burned with fire: your land, strangers devour it in your presence, and it is desolate, as overthrown by strangers.

And I will scatter you among the heathen, and will draw out a sword after you: and your land shall be desolate, and your cities waste.

Notwithstanding the land shall be desolate because of them that dwell therein, for the fruit of their doings.

For thus hath YY said, The whole land shall be desolate; yet will I not make a full end.

And her gates shall lament and mourn; and she being desolate shall sit upon the ground.

Thus saith YY ; Again there shall be heard in this place, which ye say shall be desolate without man and without beast, even in the cities of Yhudah, and in the streets of Yerushalayim, that are desolate, without man, and without inhabitant, and without beast,

Then said I, YY , how long? And he answered, Until the cities be wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land be utterly desolate,

The fire consumed their young men; and their maidens were not given to marriage.

For thus saith YY unto the king's house of Yhudah; Thou art Gilad unto me, and the head of Lvanon: yet surely I will make thee a wilderness, and cities which are not inhabited.

Hearken not unto them; serve the king of Bavel, and live: wherefore should this city be laid waste?

Wherefore my fury and mine anger was poured forth, and was kindled in the cities of Yhudah and in the streets of Yerushalayim; and they are wasted and desolate, as at this day.

The elders have ceased from the gate, the young men from their musick.

Lo, let that night be solitary, let no joyful voice come therein.

I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of YY , and by his fierce anger.

The voice of joy, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the voice of them that shall say, Praise YY -TZvaot: for YY is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: and of them that shall bring the sacrifice of praise into the house of YY . For I will cause to return the captivity of the land, as at the first, saith YY .

Violence is risen up into a rod of wickedness: none of them shall remain, nor of their multitude, nor of any of their's: neither shall there be wailing for them.

And I will visit upon her the days of Baalim, wherein she burned incense to them, and she decked herself with her earrings and her jewels, and she went after her lovers, and forgat me, saith YY .
