Thus saith YY -TZvaot, the Elohim of Yisrael; Ye have seen all the evil that I have brought upon Yerushalayim, and upon all the cities of Yhudah; and, behold, this day they are a desolation, and no man dwelleth therein,

Behold, I will command, saith YY , and cause them to return to this city; and they shall fight against it, and take it, and burn it with fire: and I will make the cities of Yhudah a desolation without an inhabitant.

And I will make Yerushalayim heaps, and a den of dragons; and I will make the cities of Yhudah desolate, without an inhabitant.

Then said I, YY , how long? And he answered, Until the cities be wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land be utterly desolate,

Therefore shall TZiyon for your sake be plowed as a field, and Yerushalayim shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of the forest.

The lion is come up from his thicket, and the destroyer of the Gentiles is on his way; he is gone forth from his place to make thy land desolate; and thy cities shall be laid waste, without an inhabitant.

But my words and my statutes, which I Commanded my servants the prophets, did they not take hold of your fathers? and they returned and said, Like as YY -TZvaot thought to do unto us, according to our ways, and according to our doings, so hath he dealt with us.

Because of the mountain of TZiyon, which is desolate, the foxes walk upon it.

For these things I weep; mine eye, mine eye runneth down with water, because the comforter that should relieve my soul is far from me: my children are desolate, because the enemy prevailed.

How doth the city sit solitary, that was full of people! how is she become as a widow! she that was great among the nations, and princess among the provinces, how is she become tributary!

So that YY could no longer bear, because of the evil of your doings, and because of the abominations which ye have committed; therefore is your land a desolation, and an astonishment, and a curse, without an inhabitant, as at this day.

And this whole land shall be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Bavel seventy years.

Then will I cause to cease from the cities of Yhudah, and from the streets of Yerushalayim, the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride: for the land shall be desolate.

In the city is left desolation, and the gate is smitten with destruction.

And I will stretch over Yerushalayim the line of Shomron, and the plummet of the house of Achav: and I will wipe Yerushalayim as a man wipeth a dish, wiping it, and turning it upside down.

And ye have seen all that YY your Elohim hath done unto all these nations because of you; for YY your Elohim is he that hath fought for you.

And Moshe called unto all Yisrael, and said unto them, Ye have seen all that YY did before your eyes in the land of Egypt unto Pharaoh, and unto all his servants, and unto all his land;

The land also shall be left of them, and shall enjoy her Sabbaths, while she lieth desolate without them: and they shall accept of the punishment of their iniquity: because, even because they despised my judgments, and because their soul abhorred my statutes.

Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles' wings, and brought you unto myself.

And I will make your cities waste, and bring your sanctuaries unto desolation, and I will not smell the savour of your sweet odours.

Because ye have burned incense, and because ye have sinned against YY , and have not obeyed the voice of YY , nor walked in his Torah, nor in his statutes, nor in his testimonies; therefore this evil is happened unto you, as at this day.

And he hath confirmed his words, which he spake against us, and against our judges that judged us, by bringing upon us a great evil: for under the whole heaven hath not been done as hath been done upon Yerushalayim.

And death shall be chosen rather than life by all the residue of them that remain of this evil family, which remain in all the places whither I have driven them, saith YY -TZvaot.
