Now when Ebedmelech the Ethiopian, one of the eunuchs which was in the king's house, heard that they had put Yirmeyah-yahu in the dungeon; the king then sitting in the gate of Binyamin;
And when he was in the gate of Binyamin, a captain of the ward was there, whose name was IriYAH, the son of Shelemiah, the son of Hananiah; and he took Yirmeyah-yahu the prophet, saying, Thou fallest away to the Chaldeans.
(After that Ykhanyah-yahu the king, and the queen, and the eunuchs, the princes of Yhudah and Yerushalayim, and the carpenters, and the smiths, were departed from Yerushalayim;)
The princes of Yhudah, and the princes of Yerushalayim, the eunuchs, and the kohanim, and all the people of the land, which passed between the parts of the calf;
And he carried away Yhoyakhin to Bavel, and the king's mother, and the king's wives, and his officers, and the mighty of the land, those carried he into captivity from Yerushalayim to Bavel.
And when he that doth flee unto one of those cities shall stand at the entering of the gate of the city, and shall declare his cause in the ears of the elders of that city, they shall take him into the city unto them, and give him a place, that he may dwell among them.
Neither let the son of the stranger, that hath joined himself to YY , speak, saying, YY hath utterly separated me from his people: neither let the eunuch say, Behold, I am a dry tree.
Then said the princes and all the people unto the kohanim and to the prophets; This man is not worthy to die: for he hath spoken to us in the name of YY our Elohim.
All the land shall be turned as a plain from Geba to Rimmon south of Yerushalayim: and it shall be lifted up, and inhabited in her place, from Binyamin's gate unto the place of the first gate, unto the corner gate, and from the tower of Hananeel unto the king's winepresses.
