And TZidkiyah-yahu the king sent Yehucal the son of Shelemiah and TZfanyah-yahu the son of Maaseiah the kohen to the prophet Yirmeyah-yahu, saying, Pray now unto YY our Elohim for us.
For ye dissembled in your hearts, when ye sent me unto YY your Elohim, saying, Pray for us unto YY our Elohim; and according unto all that YY our Elohim shall say, so declare unto us, and we will do it.
Thus speaketh YY -TZvaot, the Elohim of Yisrael, saying, Because thou hast sent letters in thy name unto all the people that are at Yerushalayim, and to TZfanyah-yahu the son of Maaseiah the kohen, and to all the kohanim, saying,
Saying to a stock, Thou art my father; and to a stone, Thou hast brought me forth: for they have turned their back unto me, and not their face: but in the time of their trouble they will say, Arise, and save us.
And the king answered and said unto the man of Elohim, Intreat now the face of YY thy Elohim, and pray for me, that my hand may be restored me again. And the man of Elohim besought YY , and the king's hand was restored him again, and became as it was before.
Then Shephatiah the son of Mattan, and Gedaliah the son of Pashur, and Jucal the son of Shelemiah, and Pashur the son of Malchiah, heard the words that Yirmeyah-yahu had spoken unto all the people, saying,
Thus saith YY -TZvaot, the Elohim of Yisrael, of Achav the son of Kolaiah, and of TZidkiyah-yahu the son of Maaseiah, which prophesy a lie unto you in my name; Behold, I will deliver them into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Bavel; and he shall slay them before your eyes;
And all the people said unto Shmuel, Pray for thy servants unto YY thy Elohim, that we die not: for we have added unto all our sins this evil, to ask us a king.
Therefore the people came to Moshe, and said, We have sinned, for we have spoken against YY , and against thee; pray unto YY , that he take away the serpents from us. And Moshe prayed for the people.
Then Pharaoh called for Moshe and Aharon, and said, Intreat YY , that he may take away the frogs from me, and from my people; and I will let the people go, that they may do sacrifice unto YY .
YY said, Verily it shall be well with thy remnant; verily I will cause the enemy to entreat thee well in the time of evil and in the time of affliction.
Thus saith YY , the Elohim of Yisrael; Thus shall ye say to the king of Yhudah, that sent you unto me to enquire of me; Behold, Pharaoh's army, which is come forth to help you, shall return to Egypt into their own land.
Then TZidkiyah-yahu the king sent, and took him out: and the king asked him secretly in his house, and said, Is there any word from YY ? And Yirmeyah-yahu said, There is: for, said he, thou shalt be delivered into the hand of the king of Bavel.
Then all the captains of the forces, and Johanan the son of Kareah, and Jezaniah the son of Hoshaiah, and all the people from the least even unto the greatest, came near,
