Jeremiah 3:12

Go and proclaim these words toward the north, and say, Return, thou backsliding Yisrael, saith YY ; and I will not cause mine anger to fall upon you: for I am merciful, saith YY , and I will not keep anger for ever.

Say unto them, As I live, saith YY Elohim, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Yisrael?

But thou, O YY , art an Elohim full of compassion, and gracious, long suffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth.

Then will I cast away the seed of Yaakov and David my servant, so that I will not take any of his seed to be rulers over the seed of Avraham, Yitzchak, and Yaakov: for I will cause their captivity to return, and have mercy on them.

Is Efrayim my dear son? is he a pleasant child? for since I spake against him, I do earnestly remember him still: therefore my bowels are troubled for him; I will surely have mercy upon him, saith YY .

Return, ye backsliding children, and I will heal your backslidings. Behold, we come unto thee; for thou art YY our Elohim.

In those days the house of Yhudah shall walk with the house of Yisrael, and they shall come together out of the land of the north to the land that I have given for an inheritance unto your fathers.

For I am with thee, saith YY , to save thee: though I make a full end of all nations whither I have scattered thee, yet I will not make a full end of thee: but I will correct thee in measure, and will not leave thee altogether unpunished.

But, YY liveth, which brought up and which led the seed of the house of Yisrael out of the north country, and from all countries whither I had driven them; and they shall dwell in their own land.

If thou wilt return, O Yisrael, saith YY , return unto me: and if thou wilt put away thine abominations out of my sight, then shalt thou not remove.

Will he reserve his anger for ever? will he keep it to the end? Behold, thou hast spoken and done evil things as thou couldest.

YY is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy.

For thou, YY , art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee.

Now it came to pass in the third year of Hoshea son of Elah king of Yisrael, that Hizkiyah-yahu the son of Ahaz king of Yhudah began to reign.

Until YY removed Yisrael out of his sight, as he had said by all his servants the prophets. So was Yisrael carried away out of their own land to Ashur unto this day.

And shalt return unto YY thy Elohim, and shalt obey his voice according to all that I Command thee this day, thou and thy children, with all thine heart, and with all thy soul;

Come, and let us return unto YY : for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up.

Therefore thus saith YY Elohim; Now will I bring again the captivity of Yaakov, and have mercy upon the whole house of Yisrael, and will be jealous for my holy name;

Behold, I will bring them from the north country, and gather them from the coasts of the earth, and with them the blind and the lame, the woman with child and her that travaileth with child together: a great company shall return thither.

Turn, O backsliding children, saith YY ; for I am married unto you: and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to TZiyon:

And I said after she had done all these things, Turn thou unto me. But she returned not. And her treacherous sister Yhudah saw it.

They say, If a man put away his wife, and she go from him, and become another man's, shall he return unto her again? shall not that land be greatly polluted? but thou hast played the harlot with many lovers; yet return again to me, saith YY .

I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed thee.

He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.

But the mercy of YY is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children's children;

YY is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.

How long, YY ? wilt thou be angry for ever? shall thy jealousy burn like fire?

For if ye turn again unto YY , your brethren and your children shall find compassion before them that lead them captive, so that they shall come again into this land: for YY your Elohim is gracious and merciful, and will not turn away his face from you, if ye return unto him.

In the ninth year of Hoshea the king of Ashur took Shomron, and carried Yisrael away into Ashur, and placed them in Halah and in Habor by the river of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes.

In the days of Pekah king of Yisrael came Tiglathpileser king of Ashur, and took Ijon, and Abelbethmaachah, and JaNoach, and Kedesh, and Hazor, and Gilad, and Galil, all the land of Naftali, and carried them captive to Ashur.

If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.

If they shall confess their iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers, with their trespass which they trespassed against me, and that also they have walked contrary unto me;

He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever.

Then YY said unto me, Proclaim all these words in the cities of Yhudah, and in the streets of Yerushalayim, saying, Hear ye the words of this covenant, and do them.

And it shall come to pass, after that I have plucked them out I will return, and have compassion on them, and will bring them again, every man to his heritage, and every man to his land.

It is of YY 's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.

Therefore say, Thus saith YY Elohim; I will even gather you from the people, and assemble you out of the countries where ye have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Yisrael.

Now it is in mine heart to make a covenant with YY Elohim of Yisrael, that his fierce wrath may turn away from us.

Turn ye unto him from whom the children of Yisrael have deeply revolted.

Set thee up waymarks, make thee high heaps: set thine heart toward the highway, even the way which thou wentest: turn again, O virgin of Yisrael, turn again to these thy cities.

Be ye not as your fathers, unto whom the former prophets have cried, saying, Thus saith YY -TZvaot; Turn ye now from your evil ways, and from your evil doings: but they did not hear, nor hearken unto me, saith YY .
