While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the Scripture might be fulfilled.
But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Yhudah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Yisrael; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.
Then will I cast away the seed of Yaakov and David my servant, so that I will not take any of his seed to be rulers over the seed of Avraham, Yitzchak, and Yaakov: for I will cause their captivity to return, and have mercy on them.
Hear the word of YY , O ye nations, and declare it in the isles afar off, and say, He that scattered Yisrael will gather him, and keep him, as a shepherd doth his flock.
Therefore fear thou not, O my servant Yaakov, saith YY ; neither be dismayed, O Yisrael: for, lo, I will save thee from afar, and thy seed from the land of their captivity; and Yaakov shall return, and shall be in rest, and be quiet, and none shall make him afraid.
And it shall come to pass in that day, that YY shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Ashur, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.
Feed thy people with thy rod, the flock of thine heritage, which dwell solitarily in the wood, in the midst of Carmel: let them feed in Bashan and Gilad, as in the days of old.
And I will multiply upon you man and beast; and they shall increase and bring fruit: and I will settle you after your old estates, and will do better unto you than at your beginnings: and ye shall know that I am YY .
The remnant of Yisrael shall not do iniquity, nor speak lies; neither shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth: for they shall feed and lie down, and none shall make them afraid.
