And when he was in the gate of Binyamin, a captain of the ward was there, whose name was IriYAH, the son of Shelemiah, the son of Hananiah; and he took Yirmeyah-yahu the prophet, saying, Thou fallest away to the Chaldeans.
All the land shall be turned as a plain from Geba to Rimmon south of Yerushalayim: and it shall be lifted up, and inhabited in her place, from Binyamin's gate unto the place of the first gate, unto the corner gate, and from the tower of Hananeel unto the king's winepresses.
Then Asa was wroth with the seer, and put him in a prison house; for he was in a rage with him because of this thing. And Asa oppressed some of the people the same time.
But the king commanded Jerahmeel the son of Hammelech, and Seraiah the son of Azriel, and Shelemiah the son of Abdeel, to take Baruch the scribe and Yirmeyah-yahu the prophet: but YY hid them.
YY hath made thee kohen in the stead of Yhoyada the kohen, that ye should be officers in the house of YY , for every man that is mad, and maketh himself a prophet, that thou shouldest put him in prison, and in the stocks.
And say, Thus saith the king, Put this fellow in the prison, and feed him with bread of affliction and with water of affliction, until I come in peace.
And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the holy ones, and with the blood of the martyrs of Y'shuw`a: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.
Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.
Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted? and they have slain them which shewed before of the coming of the Just One; of whom ye have been now the betrayers and murderers:
And to him they agreed: and when they had called the emissaries, and beaten them, they Commanded that they should not speak in the name of Y'shuw`a, and let them go.
Now it came to pass, when Yirmeyah-yahu had made an end of speaking all that YY had Commanded him to speak unto all the people, that the kohanim and the prophets and all the people took him, saying, Thou shalt surely die.
Then TZidkiyah-yahu the son of Chenaanah came near, and smote Micaiah upon the cheek, and said, Which way went the Spirit of YY from me to speak unto thee?
And it came to pass, when king Yarovam heard the saying of the man of Elohim, which had cried against the altar in Beit-El, that he put forth his hand from the altar, saying, Lay hold on him. And his hand, which he put forth against him, dried up, so that he could not pull it in again to him.
When the princes of Yhudah heard these things, then they came up from the king's house unto the house of YY , and sat down in the entry of the new gate of YY 's house.
Then TZidkiyah-yahu the king Commanded that they should commit Yirmeyah-yahu into the court of the prison, and that they should give him daily a piece of bread out of the bakers' street, until all the bread in the city were spent. Thus Yirmeyah-yahu remained in the court of the prison.
