Jeremiah 2:2

Go and cry in the ears of Yerushalayim, saying, Thus saith YY ; I remember thee, the kindness of thy youth, the love of thine espousals, when thou wentest after me in the wilderness, in a land that was not sown.

Nevertheless I will remember my covenant with thee in the days of thy youth, and I will establish unto thee an everlasting covenant.

Now when I passed by thee, and looked upon thee, behold, thy time was the time of love; and I spread my skirt over thee, and covered thy nakedness: yea, I sware unto thee, and entered into a covenant with thee, saith YY Elohim, and thou becamest mine.

Then YY said unto me, Proclaim all these words in the cities of Yhudah, and in the streets of Yerushalayim, saying, Hear ye the words of this covenant, and do them.

Stand in the gate of YY 's house, and proclaim there this word, and say, Hear the word of YY , all ye of Yhudah, that enter in at these gates to worship YY .

For YY thy Elohim hath blessed thee in all the works of thy hand: he knoweth thy walking through this great wilderness: these forty years YY thy Elohim hath been with thee; thou hast lacked nothing.

And I will give her her vineyards from thence, and the valley of Achor for a door of hope: and she shall sing there, as in the days of her youth, and as in the day when she came up out of the land of Egypt.

Neither said they, Where is YY that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, that led us through the wilderness, through a land of deserts and of pits, through a land of drought, and of the shadow of death, through a land that no man passed through, and where no man dwelt?

And thou shalt remember all the way which YY thy Elohim led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep His Commandments, or no.

And Yisrael saw that great work which YY did upon the Egyptians: and the people feared YY , and believed YY , and his servant Moshe.

He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

And one of the company said unto him, Rabbi, speak to my brother, that he divide the inheritance with me.

Arise, go to Ninveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their wickedness is come up before me.

Set the shofar to thy mouth. He shall come as an eagle against the house of YY , because they have transgressed my covenant, and trespassed against my Torah.

Yet she multiplied her whoredoms, in calling to remembrance the days of her youth, wherein she had played the harlot in the land of Egypt.

Neither left she her whoredoms brought from Egypt: for in her youth they lay with her, and they bruised the breasts of her virginity, and poured their whoredom upon her.

And they committed whoredoms in Egypt; they committed whoredoms in their youth: there were their breasts pressed, and there they bruised the teats of their virginity.

And in all thine abominations and thy whoredoms thou hast not remembered the days of thy youth, when thou wast naked and bare, and wast polluted in thy blood.

And go forth unto the valley of the son of Hinnom, which is by the entry of the east gate, and proclaim there the words that I shall tell thee,

Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a shofar, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Yaakov their sins.

Go forth, O ye daughters of TZiyon, and behold king Shlomo with the crown wherewith his mother crowned him in the day of his espousals, and in the day of the gladness of his heart.

Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets:

And Moshe said, This shall be, when YY shall give you in the evening flesh to eat, and in the morning bread to the full; for that YY heareth your murmurings which ye murmur against him: and what are we? your murmurings are not against us, but against YY .

Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with Elohim? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of Elohim.

Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.

Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth, may Yisrael now say:

Moreover the word of YY came to me, saying,

Wilt thou not from this time cry unto me, My father, thou art the guide of my youth?

And she shall follow after her lovers, but she shall not overtake them; and she shall seek them, but shall not find them: then shall she say, I will go and return to my first husband; for then was it better with me than now.

Yea, he loved the people; all his holy ones are in thy hand: and they sat down at thy feet; every one shall receive of thy words.

Who is this that cometh out of the wilderness like pillars of smoke, perfumed with myrrh and frankincense, with all powders of the merchant?

For I will take away the names of Baalim out of her mouth, and they shall no more be remembered by their name.

I found Yisrael like grapes in the wilderness; I saw your fathers as the firstripe in the fig tree at her first time: but they went to Baalpeor, and separated themselves unto that shame; and their abominations were according as they loved.

When Yisrael was a child, then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt.
