All they that see me laugh me to scorn: they shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying,

Behold, I will send and take all the families of the north, saith YY , and Nebuchadrezzar the king of Bavel, my servant, and will bring them against this land, and against the inhabitants thereof, and against all these nations round about, and will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, and an hissing, and perpetual desolations.

And I will make this city desolate, and an hissing; every one that passeth thereby shall be astonished and hiss because of all the plagues thereof.

And they that passed by reviled him, wagging their heads,

For the statutes of Omri are kept, and all the works of the house of Achav, and ye walk in their counsels; that I should make thee a desolation, and the inhabitants thereof an hissing: therefore ye shall bear the reproach of my people.

Because of the wrath of YY it shall not be inhabited, but it shall be wholly desolate: every one that goeth by Bavel shall be astonished, and hiss at all her plagues.

For I have sworn by myself, saith YY , that Bozrah shall become a desolation, a reproach, a waste, and a curse; and all the cities thereof shall be perpetual wastes.

And at this house, which is high, every one that passeth by it shall be astonished, and shall hiss; and they shall say, Why hath YY done thus unto this land, and to this house?

And they that passed by railed on him, wagging their heads, and saying, Ah, thou that destroyest the Temple, and buildest it in three days,

This is the word which YY hath spoken concerning him; The virgin, the daughter of TZiyon, hath despised thee, and laughed thee to scorn; the daughter of Yerushalayim hath shaken her head at thee.

And say unto the people of the land, Thus saith YY Elohim of the inhabitants of Yerushalayim, and of the land of Yisrael; They shall eat their bread with carefulness, and drink their water with astonishment, that her land may be desolate from all that is therein, because of the violence of all them that dwell therein.

So will I stretch out my hand upon them, and make the land desolate, yea, more desolate than the wilderness toward Diblath, in all their habitations: and they shall know that I am YY .

And I will make Yerushalayim heaps, and a den of dragons; and I will make the cities of Yhudah desolate, without an inhabitant.

Then said I, YY , how long? And he answered, Until the cities be wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land be utterly desolate,

Thou makest us a byword among the heathen, a shaking of the head among the people.

And that the whole land thereof is brimstone, and salt, and burning, that it is not sown, nor beareth, nor any grass groweth therein, like the overthrow of Sodom, and Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboim, which YY overthrew in his anger, and in his wrath:

Then YY will make thy plagues wonderful, and the plagues of thy seed, even great plagues, and of long continuance, and sore sicknesses, and of long continuance.

The land also shall be left of them, and shall enjoy her Sabbaths, while she lieth desolate without them: and they shall accept of the punishment of their iniquity: because, even because they despised my judgments, and because their soul abhorred my statutes.

And I will bring the land into desolation: and your enemies which dwell therein shall be astonished at it.

I became also a reproach unto them: when they looked upon me they shaked their heads.

For thus saith YY -TZvaot, the Elohim of Yisrael; As mine anger and my fury hath been poured forth upon the inhabitants of Yerushalayim; so shall my fury be poured forth upon you, when ye shall enter into Egypt: and ye shall be an execration, and an astonishment, and a curse, and a reproach; and ye shall see this place no more.

And I will take the remnant of Yhudah, that have set their faces to go into the land of Egypt to sojourn there, and they shall all be consumed, and fall in the land of Egypt; they shall even be consumed by the sword and by the famine: they shall die, from the least even unto the greatest, by the sword and by the famine: and they shall be an execration, and an astonishment, and a curse, and a reproach.

For was not Yisrael a derision unto thee? was he found among thieves? for since thou spakest of him, thou skippedst for joy.

Also Edom shall be a desolation: every one that goeth by it shall be astonished, and shall hiss at all the plagues thereof.

Is it nothing to you, all ye that pass by? behold, and see if there be any sorrow like unto my sorrow, which is done unto me, wherewith YY hath afflicted me in the day of his fierce anger.

The merchants among the people shall hiss at thee; thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt be any more.

Therefore prophesy and say, Thus saith YY Elohim; Because they have made you desolate, and swallowed you up on every side, that ye might be a possession unto the residue of the heathen, and ye are taken up in the lips of talkers, and are an infamy of the people:

Wherefore the wrath of YY was upon Yhudah and Yerushalayim, and he hath delivered them to trouble, to astonishment, and to hissing, as ye see with your eyes.

And I will persecute them with the sword, with the famine, and with the pestilence, and will deliver them to be removed to all the kingdoms of the earth, to be a curse, and an astonishment, and an hissing, and a reproach, among all the nations whither I have driven them:

And Bavel shall become heaps, a dwellingplace for dragons, an astonishment, and an hissing, without an inhabitant.

Her cities are a desolation, a dry land, and a wilderness, a land wherein no man dwelleth, neither doth any son of man pass thereby.
