Was not Avraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Yitzchak his son upon the Altar?

They answered and said unto him, Avraham is our father. Y'shuw`a saith unto them, If ye were Avraham's children, ye would do the works of Avraham.

Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the Torah, but to that also which is of the faith of Avraham; who is the father of us all,

For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.

Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without [8] thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.

And the father of circumcision to them who are not of the circumcision only, but who also walk in the steps of that faith of our father Avraham, which he had being yet uncircumcised.

What shall we say then that Avraham our father, as pertaining to the flesh, hath found?

Therefore by the deeds of the Torah there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the Torah is the knowledge of sin.

And he said, Men, brethren, and fathers, hearken; The Elohim of glory appeared unto our father Avraham, when he was in Mesopotamia, before he dwelt in Haran,

Art thou greater than our father Avraham, which is dead? and the prophets are dead: whom makest thou thyself?

And he said, Nay, father Avraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.

And he cried and said, Father Avraham, have mercy on me, and send Elazar, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.

The oath which he sware to our father Avraham,

And think not to say within yourselves, We have Avraham to our father: for I say unto you, that Elohim is able of these stones to raise up children unto Avraham.

Look unto Avraham your father, and unto Sarah that bare you: for I called him alone, and blessed him, and increased him.

And enter not into judgment with thy servant: for in thy sight shall no man living be justified.

And I took your father Avraham from the other side of the flood, and led him throughout all the land of Kenaan, and multiplied his seed, and gave him Yitzchak.

By faith Avraham, when he was tried, offered up Yitzchak: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son,
