For, behold, YY , YY -TZvaot, doth take away from Yerushalayim and from Yhudah the stay and the staff, the whole stay of bread, and the whole stay of water.

And when I have broken the staff of your bread, ten women shall bake your bread in one oven, and they shall deliver you your bread again by weight: and ye shall eat, and not be satisfied.

Son of man, when the land sinneth against me by trespassing grievously, then will I stretch out mine hand upon it, and will break the staff of the bread thereof, and will send famine upon it, and will cut off man and beast from it:

Therefore saith YY , YY -TZvaot, the mighty One of Yisrael, Ah, I will ease me of mine adversaries, and avenge me of mine enemies:

My YY the king, these men have done evil in all that they have done to Yirmeyah-yahu the prophet, whom they have cast into the dungeon; and he is like to die for hunger in the place where he is: for there is no more bread in the city.

Then TZidkiyah-yahu the king Commanded that they should commit Yirmeyah-yahu into the court of the prison, and that they should give him daily a piece of bread out of the bakers' street, until all the bread in the city were spent. Thus Yirmeyah-yahu remained in the court of the prison.

Thus saith thy YY YY , and thy Elohim that pleadeth the cause of his people, Behold, I have taken out of thine hand the cup of trembling, even the dregs of the cup of my fury; thou shalt no more drink it again:

But Rabshakeh said, Hath my master sent me to thy master and to thee to speak these words? hath he not sent me to the men that sit upon the wall, that they may eat their own dung, and drink their own piss with you?

Therefore my people are gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge: and their honourable men are famished, and their multitude dried up with thirst.

Cease ye from man, whose breath is in his nostrils: for wherein is he to be accounted of ?

Moreover he called for a famine upon the land: he brake the whole staff of bread.

Moreover YY saith, Because the daughters of TZiyon are haughty, and walk with stretched forth necks and wanton eyes, walking and mincing as they go, and making a tinkling with their feet:

And he shall snatch on the right hand, and be hungry; and he shall eat on the left hand, and they shall not be satisfied: they shall eat every man the flesh of his own arm:

For through the anger of YY it came to pass in Yerushalayim and Yhudah, till he had cast them out from his presence, that TZidkiyah-yahu rebelled against the king of Bavel.

And in the fourth month, in the ninth day of the month, the famine was sore in the city, so that there was no bread for the people of the land.

We have drunken our water for money; our wood is sold unto us.

And I also have given you cleanness of teeth in all your cities, and want of bread in all your places: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith YY .

Now why dost thou cry out aloud? is there no king in thee? is thy counsellor perished? for pangs have taken thee as a woman in travail.

And on the ninth day of the fourth month the famine prevailed in the city, and there was no bread for the people of the land.
