Rejoice not, O Yisrael, for joy, as other people: for thou hast gone a whoring from thy Elohim, thou hast loved a reward upon every cornfloor.

The inhabitants of Shomron shall fear because of the calves of Bethaven: for the people thereof shall mourn over it, and the kohanim thereof that rejoiced on it, for the glory thereof, because it is departed from it.

My people ask counsel at their stocks, and their staff declareth unto them: for the spirit of whoredoms hath caused them to err, and they have gone a whoring from under their Elohim.

But we will certainly do whatsoever thing goeth forth out of our own mouth, to burn incense unto the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, as we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings, and our princes, in the cities of Yhudah, and in the streets of Yerushalayim: for then had we plenty of victuals, and were well, and saw no evil.

Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you.

But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil.

Ye which rejoice in a thing of nought, which say, Have we not taken to us shofars by our own strength?

You only have I known of all the families of the earth: therefore I will punish you for all your iniquities.

They have dealt treacherously against YY : for they have begotten strange children: now shall a month devour them with their portions.

They will not frame their doings to turn unto their Elohim: for the spirit of whoredoms is in the midst of them, and they have not known YY .

And I will destroy her vines and her fig trees, whereof she hath said, These are my rewards that my lovers have given me: and I will make them a forest, and the beasts of the field shall eat them.

It is sharpened to make a sore slaughter; it is furbished that it may glitter: should we then make mirth? it contemneth the rod of my son, as every tree.

And that which cometh into your mind shall not be at all, that ye say, We will be as the heathen, as the families of the countries, to serve wood and stone.

Rejoice and be glad, O daughter of Edom, that dwellest in the land of Uz; the cup also shall pass through unto thee: thou shalt be drunken, and shalt make thyself naked.

In the day shalt thou make thy plant to grow, and in the morning shalt thou make thy seed to flourish: but the harvest shall be a heap in the day of grief and of desperate sorrow.

And I will turn your feasts into mourning, and all your songs into lamentation; and I will bring up sackcloth upon all loins, and baldness upon every head; and I will make it as the mourning of an only son, and the end thereof as a bitter day.

For, lo, they that are far from thee shall perish: thou hast destroyed all them that go a whoring from thee.

And offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving with leaven, and proclaim and publish the free offerings: for this liketh you, O ye children of Yisrael, saith YY Elohim.

Thine own wickedness shall correct thee, and thy backslidings shall reprove thee: know therefore and see that it is an evil thing and bitter, that thou hast forsaken YY thy Elohim, and that my fear is not in thee, saith YY Elohim of hosts.

For of old time I have broken thy yoke, and burst thy bands; and thou saidst, I will not transgress; when upon every high hill and under every green tree thou wanderest, playing the harlot.

But thou didst trust in thine own beauty, and playedst the harlot because of thy renown, and pouredst out thy fornications on every one that passed by; his it was.

How weak is thine heart, saith YY Elohim, seeing thou doest all these things, the work of an imperious whorish woman;
