Hosea 8:1

Set the shofar to thy mouth. He shall come as an eagle against the house of YY , because they have transgressed my covenant, and trespassed against my Torah.

But they like men have transgressed the covenant: there have they dealt treacherously against me.

YY shall bring a nation against thee from far, from the end of the earth, as swift as the eagle flieth; a nation whose tongue thou shalt not understand;

Blow ye the cornet in Givah, and the shofar in Ramah: cry aloud at Bethaven, after thee, O Binyamin.

Behold, he shall come up as clouds, and his chariots shall be as a whirlwind: his horses are swifter than eagles. Woe unto us! for we are spoiled.

Their horses also are swifter than the leopards, and are more fierce than the evening wolves: and their horsemen shall spread themselves, and their horsemen shall come from far; they shall fly as the eagle that hasteth to eat.

In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last shofar: for the shofar shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.

Open thy doors, O Lvanon, that the fire may devour thy cedars.

And YY shall be seen over them, and his arrow shall go forth as the lightning: and YY Elohim shall blow the shofar, and shall go with whirlwinds of the south.

A day of the shofar and alarm against the fenced cities, and against the high towers.

I saw YY standing upon the altar: and he said, Smite the lintel of the door, that the posts may shake: and cut them in the head, all of them; and I will slay the last of them with the sword: he that fleeth of them shall not flee away, and he that escapeth of them shall not be delivered.

And the songs of the temple shall be howlings in that day, saith YY Elohim: there shall be many dead bodies in every place; they shall cast them forth with silence.

Shall a shofar be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and YY hath not done it?

Blow ye the shofar in TZiyon, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of YY cometh, for it is nigh at hand;

All their wickedness is in Gilgal: for there I hated them: for the wickedness of their doings I will drive them out of mine house, I will love them no more: all their princes are revolters.

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no kohen to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the Torah of thy Elohim, I will also forget thy children.

For thus saith YY Elohim; I will even deal with thee as thou hast done, which hast despised the oath in breaking the covenant.

They have blown the shofar, even to make all ready; but none goeth to the battle: for my wrath is upon all the multitude thereof.

Set ye up a standard in the land, blow the shofar among the nations, prepare the nations against her, call together against her the kingdoms of Ararat, Minni, and Ashchenaz; appoint a captain against her; cause the horses to come up as the rough caterpillers.

For thus saith YY ; Behold, he shall fly as an eagle, and shall spread his wings over Moab.

Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith YY :

O ye children of Binyamin, gather yourselves to flee out of the midst of Yerushalayim, and blow the shofar in Tekoa, and set up a sign of fire in Bethhaccerem: for evil appeareth out of the north, and great destruction.

Declare ye in Yhudah, and publish in Yerushalayim; and say, Blow ye the shofar in the land: cry, gather together, and say, Assemble yourselves, and let us go into the defenced cities.

Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a shofar, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Yaakov their sins.

The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the Laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant.

All ye inhabitants of the world, and dwellers on the earth, see ye, when he lifteth up an ensign on the mountains; and when he bloweth a shofar, hear ye.

But Rabshakeh said unto them, Hath my master sent me to thy master, and to thee, to speak these words? hath he not sent me to the men which sit on the wall, that they may eat their own dung, and drink their own piss with you?

Blow the shofar in TZiyon, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly:

And I will give the men that have transgressed my covenant, which have not performed the words of the covenant which they had made before me, when they cut the calf in twain, and passed between the parts thereof,

Behold, he shall come up and fly as the eagle, and spread his wings over Bozrah: and at that day shall the heart of the mighty men of Edom be as the heart of a woman in her pangs.

And say, Thus saith YY Elohim; A great eagle with great wings, longwinged, full of feathers, which had divers colours, came unto Lvanon, and took the highest branch of the cedar:

Therefore prophesy against them, prophesy, O son of man.
