Hosea 7:16

They return, but not to the El Elyon: they are like a deceitful bow: their princes shall fall by the sword for the rage of their tongue: this shall be their derision in the land of Egypt.

And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.

(For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;)

Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!

They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.

But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

And my people are bent to backsliding from me: though they called them to the El Elyon, none at all would exalt him.

Woe unto them! for they have fled from me: destruction unto them! because they have transgressed against me: though I have redeemed them, yet they have spoken lies against me.

O Efrayim, what shall I do unto thee? O Yhudah, what shall I do unto thee? for your goodness is as a morning cloud, and as the early dew it goeth away.

And when they entered unto the heathen, whither they went, they profaned my holy name, when they said to them, These are the people of YY , and are gone forth out of his land.

Then said they, Come and let us devise devices against Yirmeyah-yahu; for the Torah shall not perish from the kohen, nor counsel from the wise, nor the word from the prophet. Come, and let us smite him with the tongue, and let us not give heed to any of his words.

And yet for all this her treacherous sister Yhudah hath not turned unto me with her whole heart, but feignedly, saith YY .

For Yerushalayim is ruined, and Yhudah is fallen: because their tongue and their doings are against YY , to provoke the eyes of his glory.

For their heart was not right with him, neither were they stedfast in his covenant.

My soul is among lions: and I lie even among them that are set on fire, even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword.

The tongue deviseth mischiefs; like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.

YY shall cut off all flattering lips, and the tongue that speaketh proud things:

They are inclosed in their own fat: with their mouth they speak proudly.

And he shall speak great words against the El Elyon, and shall wear out the holy ones of the El Elyon, and think to change times and Laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.

He shall not return into the land of Egypt, and the Ashurn shall be his king, because they refused to return.

Your words have been stout against me, saith YY . Yet ye say, What have we spoken so much against thee?

Ye have said, It is vain to serve Elohim: and what profit is it that we have kept his ordinance, and that we have walked mournfully before YY -TZvaot?

For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, now will I arise, saith YY ; I will set him in safety from him that puffeth at him.

For thus saith YY -TZvaot, the Elohim of Yisrael; As mine anger and my fury hath been poured forth upon the inhabitants of Yerushalayim; so shall my fury be poured forth upon you, when ye shall enter into Egypt: and ye shall be an execration, and an astonishment, and a curse, and a reproach; and ye shall see this place no more.

They shall not offer wine offerings to YY , neither shall they be pleasing unto him: their sacrifices shall be unto them as the bread of mourners; all that eat thereof shall be polluted: for their bread for their soul shall not come into the house of YY .
