Saying, When will the new moon be gone, that we may sell corn? and the Sabbath, that we may set forth wheat, making the ephah small, and the shekel great, and falsifying the balances by deceit?
Then will I cause to cease from the cities of Yhudah, and from the streets of Yerushalayim, the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride: for the land shall be desolate.
For thus saith YY -TZvaot, the Elohim of Yisrael; Behold, I will cause to cease out of this place in your eyes, and in your days, the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride.
And the songs of the temple shall be howlings in that day, saith YY Elohim: there shall be many dead bodies in every place; they shall cast them forth with silence.
For the children of Yisrael shall abide many days without a king, and without a prince, and without a sacrifice, and without an image, and without an ephod, and without teraphim:
Moreover I will take from them the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones, and the light of the candle.
And Yarovam ordained a feast in the eighth month, on the fifteenth day of the month, like unto the feast that is in Yhudah, and he offered upon the altar. So did he in Beit-El, sacrificing unto the calves that he had made: and he placed in Beit-El the kohanim of the high places which he had made.
