And it came to pass, when Yisrael dwelt in that land, that Reuven went and lay with Bilhah his father's concubine: and Yisrael heard it. Now the sons of Yaakov were twelve:

Now the sons of Reuven the firstborn of Yisrael, (for he was the firstborn; but forasmuch as he defiled his father's bed, his birthright was given unto the sons of Yosef the son of Yisrael: and the genealogy is not to be reckoned after the birthright.

Cursed be he that lieth with his father's wife; because he uncovereth his father's skirt. And all the people shall say, Amen.

Let Reuven live, and not die; and let not his men be few.

It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father's wife.

Neither shalt thou desire thy neighbour's wife, neither shalt thou covet thy neighbour's house, his field, or his manservant, or his maidservant, his ox, or his ass, or any thing that is thy neighbour's.

And these are the names of the children of Yisrael, which came into Egypt, Yaakov and his sons: Reuven, Yaakov's firstborn.

As also in all his letters, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other Scriptures, unto their own destruction.

Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:
