But he shall acknowledge the son of the hated for the firstborn, by giving him a double portion of all that he hath: for he is the beginning of his strength; the right of the firstborn is his.

Reuven, the eldest son of Yisrael: the children of Reuven; Hanoch, of whom cometh the family of the Hanochites: of Pallu, the family of the Palluites:

And Yosef said unto his father, Not so, my father: for this is the firstborn; put thy right hand upon his head.

And these are the names of the children of Yisrael, which came into Egypt, Yaakov and his sons: Reuven, Yaakov's firstborn.

And unto the angel of the Congregation of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of Elohim;

Let Reuven live, and not die; and let not his men be few.

And it came to pass, when Yisrael dwelt in that land, that Reuven went and lay with Bilhah his father's concubine: and Yisrael heard it. Now the sons of Yaakov were twelve:

The sons of Leah; Reuven, Yaakov's firstborn, and Shimon, and Levi, and Yhudah, and Yissakhar, and Zvulun:

And these shall stand upon mount Ebal to curse; Reuven, Gad, and Asher, and Zvulun, Dan, and Naftali.

And by the border of Efrayim, from the east side even unto the west side, a portion for Reuven.
