And Yosef called the name of the firstborn Mnasheh: For Elohim, said he, hath made me forget all my toil, and all my father's house.

And now thy two sons, Efrayim and Mnasheh, which were born unto thee in the land of Egypt before I came unto thee into Egypt, are mine; as Reuven and Shimon, they shall be mine.

And unto Yosef were born two sons before the years of famine came, which Asenath the daughter of Potipherah kohen of On bare unto him.

And the name of the second called he Efrayim: For Elohim hath caused me to be fruitful in the land of my affliction.

And it came to pass after these things, that one told Yosef, Behold, thy father is sick: and he took with him his two sons, Mnasheh and Efrayim.

For the children of Yosef were two tribes, Mnasheh and Efrayim: therefore they gave no part unto the Lvim in the land, save cities to dwell in, with their suburbs for their cattle and for their substance.

There was also a lot for the tribe of Mnasheh; for he was the firstborn of Yosef; to wit, for Machir the firstborn of Mnasheh, the father of Gilad: because he was a man of war, therefore he had Gilad and Bashan.

Wherefore it came to pass, when the time was come about after Hannah had conceived, that she bare a son, and called his name Shmuel, saying, Because I have asked him of YY .

The sons of Yosef after their families were Mnasheh and Efrayim.

Because thou shalt forget thy misery, and remember it as waters that pass away:
