And Yitzchak sent away Yaakov: and he went to Padanaram unto Laban, son of Bethuel the Syrian, the brother of Rebekah, Yaakov's and Esav's mother.

And Yitzchak was forty years old when he took Rebekah to wife, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Padanaram, the sister to Laban the Syrian.

Now therefore, my son, obey my voice; arise, flee thou to Laban my brother to Haran;

And Yaakov told Rachel that he was her father's brother, and that he was Rebekah's son: and she ran and told her father.

And Yaakov fled into the country of Syria, and Yisrael served for a wife, and for a wife he kept sheep.

And Elohim came to Laban the Syrian in a dream by night, and said unto him, Take heed that thou speak not to Yaakov either good or bad.

And Yaakov came unto Yitzchak his father unto Mamre, unto the city of Arbah, which is Hevron, where Avraham and Yitzchak sojourned.

And thou shalt speak and say before YY thy Elohim, A Syrian ready to perish was my father, and he went down into Egypt, and sojourned there with a few, and became there a nation, great, mighty, and populous:

Syria was thy merchant by reason of the multitude of the wares of thy making: they occupied in thy fairs with emeralds, purple, and broidered work, and fine linen, and coral, and agate.
