And they shall waste the land of Ashur with the sword, and the land of Nimrod in the entrances thereof: thus shall he deliver us from the Ashurn, when he cometh into our land, and when he treadeth within our borders.

Arise, go to Ninveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their wickedness is come up before me.

Assur also is joined with them: they have holpen the children of Lot. Selah.

And it shall come to pass, that all they that look upon thee shall flee from thee, and say, Ninveh is laid waste: who will bemoan her? whence shall I seek comforters for thee?

But Ninveh is of old like a pool of water: yet they shall flee away. Stand, stand, shall they cry; but none shall look back.

Asshur shall not save us; we will not ride upon horses: neither will we say any more to the work of our hands, Ye are our elohim: for in thee the fatherless findeth mercy.

Asshur is there and all her company: his graves are about him: all of them slain, fallen by the sword:

Haran, and Canneh, and Eden, the merchants of Shva, Asshur, and Chilmad, were thy merchants.

So Sancheriv king of Ashur departed, and went and returned, and dwelt at Ninveh.

Then they came to Zrubavel, and to the chief of the fathers, and said unto them, Let us build with you: for we seek your Elohim, as ye do; and we do sacrifice unto him since the days of Esarhaddon king of Assur, which brought us up hither.

So Sancheriv king of Ashur departed, and went and returned, and dwelt at Ninveh.

And ships shall come from the coast of Chittim, and shall afflict Asshur, and shall afflict Eber, and he also shall perish for ever.

Nevertheless the Keni shall be wasted, until Asshur shall carry thee away captive.

And Resen between Ninveh and Calah: the same is a great city.
